Martin County Students Return To The Classroom This Week

Summer is officially over for the students and teachers in Martin County School District. Classes will begin on Tuesday, August 11th. Parents and students in Martin County School District had the choice to decide whether they prefer virtual learning or classroom learning. Nearly 40% of students in Martin County chose to do virtual learning.

The superintendent of Martin County School District promises that students taking classes virtually will receive the same lessons as their friends and classmates inside the classroom. The only difference will be their location.

 Here are some Tips to help stay focused with virtual learning.

  • Commission with students and teachers is important not just in a virtual style learning but also in the classroom
  • Create a calendar filled with deadlines and dates for when assignments and projects are due
  • Distinguish an area in the home to be for learning
  • Establish a routine and remove any distractions

With many students choosing to continue virtual learning, the classrooms will look a little different. For those students heading to the classroom, here are some tips to stay healthy.

  • The CDC recommends student bring their own mask or facial coverings, hand sanitizer, water bottle, and extra facial coverings
  • Practice social distancing
  • Frequent hand washing
  • If they have a fever over 100.4, health advisors recommend staying home
  • The CDC recommends getting a good night sleep and establish a morning routine

Students in Palm Beach County will begin classes on Monday August 31st with virtual learning.
