The debate is to be held at 4:30pm and will be lead by member of the Petitions Committee Elliot Colburn MP.

Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Jesse Norman MP, has been appointed to respond for the government.

The initial Government response to a possible extension, given in December, was that it was designed as a ‘temporary relief to stimulate market activity and support jobs that rely on the property market’ and there were no plans for its extension.

The industry has been reacting via social media, with NAEA Propertymark breaking the news on their Twitter account.

The debate is set to last 90 minutes and can be viewed online via the UK Parliament YouTube channel.
