Nationwide for Intermediaries is hiking the margin over base rate that applies to its new tracker deals by 15 basis points.

The move follows the Bank of England’s emergency base rate cut yesterday and means that new tracker deals will still be 35 basis points cheaper than before the central bank’s decision.

The building society announced earlier today that it would pass on the base rase cut in full to existing borrowers on reversion rates.

After first applying the full 0.5 percentage point base rate cut, two-year trackers including rate switch products will increase as follows:

  • At 60 per cent loan-to-value, rate increased from 0.94 per cent to 1.09 per cent with £999 fee and from 1.34 per cent to 1.49 per cent with no fee.
  • At 75 per cent LTV, rate  increased from 1.09 per cent to 1.24 per cent with £999 fee and from 1.49 per cent to 1.64 per cent with no fee.
  • At 80 per cent LTV, rate increased from 1.44 per cent to 1.59 per cent with £999 fee and from 1.84 per cent to 1.99 per cent with no fee.
  • At 85 per cent LTV, rate from 1.44 per cent to 1.59 per cent with £999 fee and from 1.84 per cent to 1.99 per cent with no fee.
  • At 90 per cent LTV, rate increased from 1.64 per cent to 1.79 per cent with £999 fee and from 2.04 per cent to 2.19 per cent with no fee.
