Shawbrook has combined the sales operations of its Bluestone Mortgages and The Mortgage Lender brands.

The move will see combined regional business development teams supporting brokers through face-to-face, virtual and telephone operations.

It adds that key account managers will also “provide joined-up or dedicated brand support depending on individual account needs”.

Shawbrook says that for brokers, the move “brings greater simplicity, faster access to expertise and more choice for their clients” backed by the wider group’s “financial strength, data insight and technology”.

However, the group says that Bluestone and TML will “remain distinct brands, each with their own product focus and customer base”.

Bluestone, bought by Shawbrook for an undisclosed fee in 2023, will continue to support customers with complex credit histories.

TML bought by Shawbrook for an undisclosed fee in 2020, will service self-employed borrowers, customers with complex incomes, and buy-to-let landlords.

Shawbrook’s focus remains professional property investors and developers with bespoke solutions.

The business holds £11bn in mortgage assets across the group.

Shawbrook chief banking officer for retail Miguel Sard (pictured) says: “This integration isn’t just a change in structure – it’s a step change in capability.

“By uniting Bluestone and TML within the Shawbrook Group, we’re combining deep specialist expertise with the financial strength, data insight and technology of a scale lender.

“That means brokers and customers benefit from greater certainty, a broader product range and a more streamlined experience – all while retaining the identity and agility that made Bluestone and TML trusted names in the market.”

The group says the following senior staff will work across all three brands:

  • Sara Palmer — sales & distribution director

  • Chris Kirby — head of sales, field

  • Louise Apollonio — head of corporate accounts

  • Mark Hollands — head of sales – key accounts & specialist distribution

  • David Eaves — head of broker support

  • Ian Hughes — head of product
