Newcastle Building Society has appointed Andrew Conroy as its new chief financial officer, who is expected to take up his post during the first quarter of next year.
Conroy joins from Leeds Building Society, where he was chief financial officer for almost six-and-a-half years.
Prior to that, he was chief financial officer at Masthaven Bank and head of finance at Coventry Building Society.
He also spent a decade at West Bromwich Building Society, leaving as a divisional director, finance in 2014.
Conroy replaces David Samper, who stepped down at the end of March, after six years in the role.
The mutual says in a market statement that it will continue its interim arrangements with Paul Astruc acting in the role.
Newcastle Building Society chief executive Andrew Haigh says: “We very much look forward to welcoming Andrew to the team in the New Year.
“Andrew will bring his extensive experience from across the sector, including prior leadership and senior roles at Leeds, Coventry and West Bromwich Building Societies.”
