Hampshire Trust Bank has appointed Rob Syrett and Jason Wilmot as lending directors in its development finance division.

Syrett joins the lender after six years at United Trust Bank, where he was most recently senior manager in its property development unit. Prior to that, he worked as a restructuring manager at Dunbar Assets/Zurich Insurance and spent a decade at investment bank Singer & Friedlander.

Hampshire Trust Bank says Syrett, “has over 10 years of experience in providing SME housebuilders and developers with development finance, land purchase bridges and developer exit loans for customers across Greater London, the southeast, the southwest, the East Midlands and East Anglia, with deals ranging from £1m to £30m.”

Wilmot joins the group from Paragon Development Finance, where he was a relationship director for two years, a title he also held at the Alternative Bridging Corporation from 2019 to 2020.

At Paragon he specialised in providing residential development finance in the £1m to £25m debt range for a portfolio of clients operating across England and Wales.

Prior to these roles, Wilmot spent 16 years at RBS/Natwest where he managed clients who specialised in residential and commercial property development and investment across London and the southeast in the £500,000 to £20m debt range.

Both men report to commercial director – development finance Neil Leitch.

Leitch says: “Both Jason and Rob have considerable and invaluable experience across property-related specialist lending.”
