In Birmingham, the most expensive property to be sold was an eight-bedroom home in Edgbaston, which sold for £4.73m.

Meanwhile in Bristol, the property purchased for the largest quantity was a seven-bedroom house in Whitchurch, which sold for £3.6m.

A seven-bedroom property in Kirby Muxloe, Leicester was sold for £3.2m, and a five-bedroom home in Ringinglow, Sheffield was sold for £3.05m.

Ross Counsell, director at Good Move, said: “It’s always exciting to look at these luxurious properties but, no matter how big or small, we all need somewhere we can call home.

“What’s really interesting is noticing the price differences across the nation and seeing how much more, or how much less, similar properties might be worth, depending on where they are in the country.”
