Convey Law brings in over

Activities taken to raise funds for good works included conveyancing supervisor Rhian Reynolds’ 2,000 squat challenge, which saw over £13,000 donated to Great Ormand Street Hospital.

Much of this was raised through the firm’s charity lotto, whereby clients have the option to donate £10 at the end of each of their transactions with a prize of £500 of legal fees covered up for grabs.

Coney Law also used the lotto to send £3,000 to help a boy, Elliot, who is three, deal with a rare genetic disorder.

And the firm’s managing director Lloyd Davies and 11 others took on the Offa’s Dyke Mindstep Trekkers’ challenge, bringing in £23,500 for the Mindstep Foundation.

Reynold’s raised the money for Great Ormand Street Hospital after it saved the life of her stepdaughter Rea, who was born prematurely with Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula.

“This hospital gave us so much and I wanted to do something small to raise money for such a wonderful place,” says Reynold.

Davies chose the Mindstep Foundation in memory of his son Max, who took his own life at 22 years old after suffering from clinical depression.

Great Ormand Street Hospital chief executive Matthew Shaw says: “Firstly, what an incredible donation – I’d like to say a massive thank you to Convey Law, to Rhian, and to each and every one of the team, for supporting the life-changing things we do here at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

“The amazing money they’ve raised is invaluable – it means we can continue to provide exceptional care to the children and young people who are treated at Great Ormond Street every year.

“Convey Law are great donors for many varied causes and it is a privilege to receive such a remarkable amount.  I can’t wait to hear about their next fundraising challenge.”

Davies comments: “We have developed a charity fundraising and caring culture at Convey Law which is ingrained at every level of our organisation. Our staff are always prepared to go the extra mile for causes that they believe in and are always keen to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

“They work together and support each other to help the charities that are dear to them and this has enabled us to help raise nearly £950,000 for our chosen charities over the course of the last decade.  Very well done all.”
