For 30 years, the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jupiter has been responsible for the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of thousands of animals back into their natural environment since opening. Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, the largest such facility in Palm Beach County reintroducing endangered and core species back into our fragile ecosystems. Since the opening of the sanctuary over 1.7 million guests have participated in the free education programs.  These educational programs help inform visitors about environmental conservation and protection.

Currently the sanctuary is located on 11 acres and has been leasing the land from the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District since 1997. The shelter has remodeled and expanded over the past few years but is now time to expand even further.  The current leased space is quickly bursting at the seams with rescued animals.

Busch Wildlife has purchased property to develop a larger campus with almost 20 acres. The new location will nearly double the space the Sanctuary currently occupies. The sanctuary is moving 6 miles west on Indiantown Road and the new center is expected to open in the spring of 2022.  The new property is located at Rocky Pines Road and Indiantown Road, just west of 1-95.

Groundbreaking is intended for the Fall of 2021, with infrastructure and buildings to follow.  Follow the construction process on social media and follow the construction of their new facility and will be taking the public along the way with videos and updates on the construction project. 

The sanctuary is currently still open to visitors at their current location in Jupiter and will remain open at this location until the move next year. This exciting time brings additional, meaningful ways we can partner together to build a strong foundation for generations to come.
