The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has charged Shaun Lawrence for operating as a mortgage broker without authorisation.

Lawrence, who also goes by the names Shaun Lawrence-Bright and Shaun Bright, was previously authorised to give mortgage advice.

Shaun Lawrence was born on 15 August 1967.

His only authorised role was as an appointed representative of Glasgow-based Lifeline Insurance Services between 21 June 2000 and 18 July 2002, according to the FCA register.

However, in 2008 he had his permissions revoked and was fined. He was also banned from working in financial services.

At the time, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) regulator said lacked honesty, integrity and competence and capability.

The FSA found that Lawrence gave information to lenders that may have been deliberately misleading in order to help his firm’s customers get mortgages.

The FCA alleges that Lawrence has breached the Financial Services and Markets Act by continuing to provide mortgage broking services when already banned.

Lawrence will appear before Hull Magistrates’ Court on 2 July 2026.
