Florida’s only drive-through safari park is Lion Country Safari located in western Palm Beach County. The safari is located on nearly six hundred acres of land and is home to roughly nine hundred animals. The Lion Country Safari is located at 2003 Lion Country Safari Road in Loxahatchee. The varieties of animals, including lions, rhinoceros, giraffes, and more, that live at Lion Country Safari come from all around the world. The safari is divided into seven different habitats. You will see some of the largest herds of zebras, giraffes, and rhinos on record in the United States.

Lion Country Safari works with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums to help save animals from extinction and recovery. Conservation and breeding programs are the conservation of threatened species and help to ensure the long-term survival of a healthy, sustainable population of threatened species Lion Country Safari is a participant in thirty-five different Species Survival Plan programs. Lion Country Safari has also hosted SSP workshops for chimpanzees and maned wolves.

The safari was founded in 1967 and claims to be the first cage-less zoo in the United States. The safari has been awarded top recognitions including the 3rd Best Safari in 2009, One of the Top Ten Drive-Through Safari, Best Outdoor Activity in Palm Beach County, Top Local Attraction of 2019, and the Certificate of Excellence in 2017, and others.
