Morpheus has boosted its senior team by adding two members as the digital-only bridging lender continues to expand since its launch last year.

The business has appointed Sonny Gohel (pictured) and Stuart Dunk to the firm that launched in May 2024.

Gohel joins the firm as head of operations, after more than a decade of experience in the specialist lending space, most recently at KHK Capital, where he was responsible for managing a team of underwriters and their portfolio management functions across development and bridging loans.

Dunk joined the lender in March as finance and treasury director, having spent six years at US-based private equity-backed data company Stats Perform as group financial controller.

He qualified as an accountant at Deloitte, and is experienced in managing banking, finance, treasury and investor relationships.

Morpheus focuses on residential, commercial and light refurbishment short-term loans from £50,000 to £750,000 for up to 18 months.

Morpheus chief executive founder Matt Mawdesley says; “Sonny brings with him a combination of ten+ years’ experience and that very rare entrepreneurial drive businesses look for.

“He is equally as ambitious as us, and we are excited to have him on the journey with us as we continue to scale and grow our business in the specialist lending space and beyond.”

He adds “Stu has been supporting us for over a year now, having known him since our time at The University of York together.

“His skillset, professionalism, and approach to providing the best possible service to our clients is exactly what Morpheus is all about.”
