Palm Beach County updated access updates for boating social distancing.  Most of Florida’s coastal counties have opened their beaches. Beaches, boat ramps and other marine access points in Palm Beach and numerous other counties are re-opening.

On April 17, Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-91, which closed all Florida Wildlife Commission maintained boat ramps, marinas and other public access points to the public, as well as State Parks.  State, county and local boat ramps are opening in more locations.

There are restrictive launching procedures at boat ramps and the number of people aboard. Launch boats one at a time.  Boaters also cannot anchor within 50 feet of another boat.  Single riders only for jet skis, paddleboards, kayaks and canoes.

The State has issued the following capacity guidelines for boats:

-        25’ OR LESS:  4 adult passengers’ maximum, plus children 17 and under.  Max 6 people of the boat.

-        26’ – 36’ LENGTH: 6 adult passengers’ maximum, plus children 17 and under. Max 8 people on the boat.

-        37’ – 60’ LENGTH:  8 adult passengers’ maximum, plus children 17 and under.  Max 10 people on the boat.

-        BOATS OVER 60’:  10 passengers maximum, not including crew members.

The FWC’s Florida Public Boat Ramp Finder is updated every 24-hours to include information regarding boat ramp open/closed status.
