Paddle Out Gathering – Kuhinia Maui 2-Year Memorial
August 8, 2025 – Hanakaʻōʻō Beach Park, West Maui
The day of remembrance begins with the Paddle Out Gathering at Hanakaʻōʻō Beach Park from 8 AM to 1:30 PM. Surfers, paddlers, and swimmers will come together for an ocean ceremony to honor the lives lost during the Lahaina wildfires. The gathering will feature music by Na Leo Pilimehana, prayers, and messages of hope. Shuttle services will run from the Lahaina Civic Center starting at 7 AM, making it easy for attendees to join the tribute.
Following the morning paddle out, a Community Gathering at Kalana O Maui in Wailuku will take place from 12 PM to 1:30 PM, offering a space for reflection, conversation, and the sharing of stories. This event is designed to bring people together in gratitude and remembrance, fostering a sense of community healing.
The day concludes with the Lahaina 2-Year Memorial Tribute at the Lahaina Civic Center Amphitheater from 5 PM to 7:30 PM. This evening event provides an opportunity for quiet reflection, cultural acknowledgment, and shared hope for the future. Registration is requested, and media attendance is respectfully discouraged to maintain the intimate and respectful tone of the gathering.

Seed to Cup Coffee Festival
August 10, 2025, 9 AM–4 PM – Maui Tropical Plantation, Waikapū
The 2025 Seed to Cup Coffee Festival is a full-sensory journey through Maui’s vibrant coffee culture, celebrating every step from cultivation to the perfect cup. Visitors can dive into hands-on workshops for just $10 each, covering topics like green bean standards, grafting, roasting, making coffee-based mocktails, coffee cupping, cooking with coffee, and the special “Taste the Roast” session honoring Ancil Clancy.
The festival also features the exhilarating Barista Throwdown hosted by Social Hour Coffee Co., where skilled baristas compete to craft exceptional brews. This unique farm-to-table benefit fundraiser celebrates local agriculture, student creativity, and environmental stewardship.
