5 of the Best Steakhouses in Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County has hundreds of dining options and dozens of steakhouses. Here are a few of our favorites.

Meat Market

The Meat Market was opened by a hard-working chef, Sean Brasel, in Miami where it gained extreme popularity causing him to open another location in Palm Beach. The Meat Market on the wealthy island is an excellent addition to the local high-class restaurant scene with supreme cuts of beef and a sophisticated, sexy ambiance. On the menu there's a selection of reserve cuts like 7-oz Kobe Filet Mignon, 30-oz Kobe Beef Tomahawk Rib-eye and 32-oz Center-cut Dry-aged Porterhouse ($90). If you're indecisive, the Gourmet Meat Sampler ($49) is a good option- it comes with a combination of small cuts of Kobe filet cooked with a crisp, filet mignon topped with marrow butter, and a marinated blackened New York strip topped with caramelized onions. There are also delectable a la carte sides such as lobster risotto, wild mushroom mix, gouda potatoes and whole roasted cauliflower. Palm Beach Post food writer, Liz Balmaseda, rates the Meat Market an "A" for food and an "A" for service, saying "Stellar steaks served with sensational service. Dining at this Palm Beach restaurant isn't simply a meal, it's an exceptional experience."

Okeechobee Steak House

The family-owned Okeechobee Steak House has been open for more than 70 years for one good reason: consistency. Their dedication to serving exceptional beef, polished dishes and outstanding service has put them on top of even the most expensive steakhouses in West Palm Beach. Keeping true to their roots, their meat menu is very straightforward with orders like Pure Angus Beef- no fancy lingo. They also have a nice wine selection experienced servers will happily suggest pairing options with your meal. The steakhouse has been reviewed nearly 800 times on OpenTable, averaging a 4.8 out of 5 rating. Their OpenTable blurb reads: "The Okeechobee Steakhouse is proud to serve only Certified UDSA Prime Beef, Dry-Aged and Hand Cut in House, guaranteed! It begins with a commitment to quality, and ends with a desire to offer you the best-tasting beef available. Because our steaks are abundantly flavorful, incredibly tender and naturally juicy, The Okeechobee Steakhouse has earned the reputation of being one of the top steakhouses in South Florida."

Location: 2854 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33409. 561-683-5151.

The Woods

Owned by famous golfer, Tiger Woods, The Woods is a well-designed waterfront restaurant with beautiful accents from the furniture to the lighting fixtures to the ambiance. Of course there's a Tiger flare with a stylized photo of the pro in the entry way, golf airing on most of the TVs, and servers in Nikes and sportswear. The menu is on-point and their meat is perfection- that's probably because The Woods acquired Chef Carmine DiCandia, executive chef partner from The Capital Grille, who opened many restaurants for the steakhouse chain. The Land & Sea portion of the menu has the best meat selection including Filet Mignon ($26-$36), Prime Rib-eye ($38), New York Strip ($34) and Sliced Skirt Steak ($19). The burgers and pork chops are also killer. Food critic Liz Balmaseda also awards this spot an "A" for food and an "A" for service.

Location: 129 Soundings Ave., Harbourside Place, Jupiter, FL 33477. 561-320-9627.

1000 North

This restaurant is in a prime location on the Jupiter Inlet offering stunning views of the Jupiter Lighthouse and yachts passing by. Opened by a collaboration of celebrities, this venue is high-class in every aspect; the food, the drinks, the service, the atmosphere- it'll have you feeling like you're living your best life. While the menu is a bit pricey, you definitely get what you pay for. Their steak selection ranges from Petit Filet Mignon ($42) to Kansas City Strip ($68) with Delmonico ($51) and Bone-in Rib-eye ($65) in between. All of their steaks are prime, aged beef cooked for the gods and served with housemade butter. Some scrumptious sides include sauteed spinach and kale, mac and cheese a la carbonara, truffle fries and charred broccolini.

Texas De Brazil

Texas De Brazil is an upscale, all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse chain with a great location in Downtown at the Gardens. Its OpenTable blurb pretty much sums it up: "Here, traditions of Brazilian cooking blend with Texas hospitality to create a lively atmosphere in an upscale setting. Your meal begins with a visit to our extravagant salad area where you can indulge in a wide array of seasonal roasted vegetables, fresh artisan breads, charcuterie, imported cheeses and other specialties. Then enjoy the rodizio-style dining that has made us famous. An endless parade of gaucho servers visits your table with skewers of freshly grilled beef, lamb, pork, chicken and Brazilian sausage carved directly onto your plate. It’s all served with authentic side dishes of garlic mashed potatoes, Brazilian cheese bread and sweet fried bananas." The eatery also has an award-winning selection of wines and Brazilian drinks to compliment your dinner and a la carte desserts- if you still have enough room in your stomach, that is.
