Ukraine Aid: one month to go | Mortgage Strategy

There is just one month to go until brokers and lenders in the mortgage industry come together to host a live music event this summer to fundraise for Ukrainian orphans.

Ukraine Aid aims to raise £30,000 for several charities helping displaced Ukrainian orphans, including Unicef and World Vision.

The concert will be held on 30 June at the Lafayette Concert Auditorium in Kings Cross, London, for which the last few sponsorship opportunities remain.

As a sponsor of the event, SimplyBiz chief executive Martin Reynolds says: “This industry never ceases to amaze me with its ability to come together and work on common causes. We had no hesitation in agreeing to support Ukraine Aid when it was first discussed.”

“While the evening will be tinged with sadness due to its need I am sure it will ultimately be a positive and uplifting evening as we all help to raise much-needed monies,” Reynolds comments.

Also sponsoring the event is MT Finance. Senior business development manager Rory Cleary says: “MT Finance jumped to support our friends at Mortgage Force, and more importantly the victims of such a terrible situation in Ukraine.”

Earlier this month, it was announced that SPF Private Client director Howard Levy, Landbay managing director of intermediaries Paul Brett and Coreco managing director Andrew Montlake will all perform at the event.

Other performers include Prolific Mortgage Finance managing director Lea Karasavvas, the winner of The Voice Ukraine 2013 Anna Hodorovskaya, The Mortgage Mum’s Sarah Tucker, as well as a Rolling Stones tribute act and The Bootleg Beatles.

Further sponsors of the event include The Brightstar Group, Metro Bank and SPF Private Clients.

The Brightstar Group group chief executive Rob Jupp explains: “Our industry is at its best when it comes together to support an important cause and Ukraine Aid is a great idea to support an incredibly worthwhile cause. We’re proud to support the event and help raise money for charities that are helping displaced Ukrainian orphans.”

Meanwhile, Metro Bank director of mortgage distribution Charles Morley says: “Metro Bank is thrilled to support Ukraine Aid, with the money raised going to an important and worthwhile cause.”

SPF Private Clients chief operating officer James Rodea adds: “SPF is delighted to be supporting this fantastic event for such a worthwhile cause, it promises to be a fantastic afternoon and we very much look forward to catching up with industry friends over a beer or three.”
