Another spot to consolidate is bathing suits. We have swimsuits out all year round. Occasionally a cold snap will breeze through, and a sweater is required. Pack away the seasonal clothing after winter passes. People throw their giant sweaters, boots, and heavy pants into the back of the closet. That can be a ridiculous waste of space. Purchase storage containers that you can vacuum out the air and compress the winter bulk. Slide the bins under the bed.

Add another row to your closet. A lot of closets do not facilitate the space up to the ceiling. You can only efficiently stack clothes so high in that empty space until it becomes absurd. Things start to tip over. After a certain point, it becomes wiser to add an extra shelf and create more storage space in your closet.
