Hampshire Trust Bank has lifted its maximum lending to £35m from £25m across its specialist mortgages and development finance units for professional landlords and property developers.
The lender says: “The move reflects structural shifts in the UK property market.
“Challenges facing landlords are accelerating the professionalisation of the private rental sector, leading to larger, more sophisticated portfolios that require tailored, high-value funding.
“At the same time, national efforts to address the housing shortage mean developers are being tasked with delivering more homes, often at greater scale.”
Hampshire Trust Bank managing director – specialist mortgages and bridging Alex Upton adds: “Brokers are already bringing us substantial portfolio cases. These are no longer one-offs — they’re a core part of the business.
“The uplift gives us more capacity to support those transactions with the same agility, care, and clarity that brokers expect from Hampshire Trust Bank.”
