Palm Beach County is home to some of the most fun bike trails in the state. Here are a few that you and your kids can enjoy
Lake Trail
Lake Trail along the Intracoastal offers the perfect scenery of the historic Palm Beach homes and a glimpse of downtown West Palm Beach from across the water. The trail is easy to follow and traffic-free, though some areas of the trail intersect with intersections in residential areas with little traffic. Along the trail, you can stop at the historic section of Worth Avenue and Henry Flagler Museum. Both are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Many shops and restaurants are located nearby to stop for food and drinks. Access to the bike trail is located across Royal Poinciana Way near the water’s edge, not far from the Flagler Museum.
Riverbend Park
Riverbend Park in Jupiter features an extensive trail system that crisscrosses across the parks 680 acres of land. Both hikers and bikers share a path made up of hard-packed shells. The paths are not paved but are even enough for road bikes and mountains bikes to travel on. The windy trails can be confusing throughout the park but it’s hard to get lost. Besides the trails, Riverbend Park also offers kayaking and a picnic area in the pavilion.
The Dyer Perimeter
The Dyer Perimeter in West Palm Beach is a 4.7-mile off-road trail, which is often used for training and practice for more difficult routes. The park offers more difficult single-track trails that feature obstacles such as fallen tree trunks and tree branches. Dyer Park has many picnic facilities, sporting fields, green space, and playgrounds to enjoy while at the park.
Cypress Creek Natural Area
Cypress Creek Natural Area in Jupiter offers a nice scenic route along the boardwalks overlooking the natural area. In addition to the bike trails, there is also a few “foot traffic only” trails where you can explore. The trials are roughly 2 miles in length and end at Mack Dairy Road.
Hollywood Beach Bike Trail
Hollywood Beach Bike Trail is located within an hour drive of Palm Beach County, the 2.5-mile-long path stretches the boardwalk in Fort Lauderdale to provide a scenic view of the ocean and beach. Along the path, there are plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy a quick snack or just enjoy the sand. You can also rent bikes at several spots along with the trail if you don’t feel like bringing your own. The best place to start the journey is by North Beach Park.
