Danske Bank UK has become the latest member to join the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (Imla).
Yesterday, the bank announced that it was making its carbon neutral mortgage available for residential homes in the South East, South West and East of England, excluding London, initially through brokers registered with Mortgage Advice Bureau.
Danske Bank UK is part of the Copenhagen-headquartered Danske Bank Group, one of the largest financial enterprises in the Nordics. Patrick Mullan, head of GB Mortgages, will be the appointed Imla representative.
The addition of Danske Bank UK brings Imla’s members to a total of 59, including banks, building societies, non-bank lenders and mortgage service providers.
Imla executive director Kate Davies says: “We are delighted to welcome Danske Bank UK into membership and look forward to hearing more from the team at our upcoming meetings and roundtable sessions. Imla has long been the voice of a diverse community of lenders, and we look forward to hearing their views on a range of industry issues, and the association will no doubt benefit from the bank’s extensive knowledge.”
Patrick Mullan says: “At Danske Bank we recognise the value Imla brings to its members, and it will provide us with significant opportunities to collaborate with the industry, especially as we expand our mortgage distribution into the English market. We look forward to taking part in Imla’s upcoming engagements, and meeting with its wider membership over the coming months.”
