Delay to merger of landlord groups - Mortgage Strategy

The merger between the National Landlords Association and the Residential Landlords Association has been postponed by several weeks.

Last September, members of both groups voted in favour of amalgamating the two bodies to create “a stronger voice for landlords”.

The restructure was due to take place on January 1, creating a new organisation with a membership of 80,000.

The new body will be called the National Residential Landlords Association.

A statement from the NLA and RLA says: “NRLA remains on plan to merge.

“Despite a target of January being set at the time of the members’ vote last September, this was ambitious and technicalities have put dates back by a few weeks.

“NRLA chief executive Ben Beadle says that members of both associations continue to receive full services.

“Amalgamation of resources is going well and the new organisation will launch within a few weeks.”
