Hampshire Trust Bank has hired Malone Roberts as lending manager for the North West,

Malone, who is based in the firm’s specialist mortgages lending division, joins after spending three years at Shawbrook Bank. He reports to the company’s head of new business Andrea Glasgow.

He is tasked with supporting the bank’s brokers in the North and Midlands, as well as structuring and packaging new applications.

The firm is a specialist bank, which provides providing asset finance, specialist mortgages and development finance as well as savings accounts to businesses and individuals.

Malone joined Shawbrook in July 2019 as a lending administrator in its Brentwood office in Essex, before being promoted to a business development executive in November 2020.

Hampshire Trust Bank’s Glasgow says: “We are seeing incredible growth year on year and this appointment further supports our commitment to offering first-class service.

“We have seen great traction since Wes Baker came on board as a business development manager [last October] and started to serve our brokers in this region and adding a dedicated lending manager for the region is another step in supporting our brokers.”

Malone adds: “What I have seen from [Hampshire Trust] bank over the years is that it remains strong and consistent regardless of the volatility in the market.”

In May, the lender expanded its specialist mortgages team with Sally Wright and Glasgow.

Wright was promoted to take on the role of head of intermediary distribution from head of propositions in the specialist mortgages division, while Glasgow was appointed as head of new business.

Both Wright and Glasgow report to the firm’s specialist mortgage managing director Louisa Sedgwick.
