If mountain biking is one of your hobbies, good news! In spite of its apparent “flatness,” Florida is actually a fun place to hop on your bike and ride. There are plenty of scenic, smooth paths in Palm Beach County and there are also some rugged, adrenaline-pumping trails. Check these out:

The Hill

Dyer Park has a climbing/descending trail that is over 50 feet in elevation and great for endurance training. It's a huge hill surrounded by native forest with a 2.4-mile path up and down it. The path is made from crushed shell rock and is about 2 feet wide. "The Hill" at Dyer Park is a favorite for local riders because of the high elevation and for testing fortitude.

The Dyer Perimeter

The perimeter trail at Dyer Park is 4.7 miles and used by many bikers to condition for "The Hill" at the park. The perimeter trail is relatively smooth, looping around the park with several twisting single-track trails that branch into the woods.

Pinehurst MTB Trail

This hidden trail in Greenacres is filled with lots of natural obstacles and will test your true mountain biking abilities. Get ready for log piles, sharp turns, and unexpected drops. Sharpen your skills by improving your balance, going over obstacles, and changing gears quickly. This is not a designated park trail but you are allowed to pull over on the side of the road to bike the 4.1-mile trail and there are two park nearby with plenty of parking, water, and restrooms (Okeeheelee Park and Greenacres Freedom Park). West Delray Trail

If you like scenic trails, this is one you'll want to bike. This beautiful trail at the West Delray Regional Park is filled with wildlife, canopied tropical trees, lakes, and marshland. There are also fun technical elements like mounds, rocks, branches, and turns. West Delray Regional Park is open every day from sunrise to sunset.

Cypress Creek 

The Cypress Creek Natural Area in Jupiter has a 2-mile shell rock road that is also pretty scenic and more of a pleasant ride. There are boardwalk parts of the trail that you can stop at and look over the preserved area. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset.
