WPB Police Unveil Convenient New Reporting Method

The City of West Palm Beach announced that residents can now file their incident reports online. This is a convenient alternative for non-emergency reports.

The secure new system It's called DORS, or Desk Officer Reporting System.

The city says it's for minor incidents like crashes, shoplifting and crime tips, but not emergencies. For emergencies, people must call 911.

The new portal gives police the ability to get brief information ahead of any potential investigation, improves the efficiency of developing a police report, and mitigates any potential threat of COVID-19 to officers and the public.

Other filing requirements include:

  • The incident is NOT an emergency,
  • The incident occurred within the West Pam Beach City limits,
  • The perpetrator of the crime, and their whereabouts, is unknown,
  • The event did not occur on a state highway,
  • A valid email address is available to file the online report,
  • The person submitting the report is at least 18 years of age

"Our police department has made tremendous improvements within the last year to make sure that every West Palm Beach resident, visitor and business owner feels safe 24/7," said West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James. "Even before I was sworn in as Mayor, I vowed that West Palm Beach would implement cutting edge technology to become the next ‘tech savvy’ City. This new online reporting system brings us one step closer to making this a reality."
