The city of Palm Beach Gardens is planning on building a new sports complex to be built at The Gardens North County District Park next year. In March, City Officials approved the plans to build a new 200,000 square foot facility that will include ice skating rinks, rock climbing walls, basketball courts, and other amenities.

Commissioners approved a lease agreement within the city and the non-profit Palm Beach North Athletic Foundation Inc., to build a two-story, 200,000 square foot facility on 17 acres of land within the North County District Park. The Park is home to 82 acres and the foundation plans to raise money to build the new approved facility. The sports complex will design, construct, operate, and maintain a non-profit organization once completed.

Construction on the facility is expected to begin in the next coming months and according to the Foundation, the sports complex is expected to take two-years to construct.  Currently The Gardens North County District Park is undergoing its own improvements and the new facility will be part of Phase Two of construction.

The North Palm Beach Sportsplex will include ice skating rinks, ice hockey, basketball courts, volleyball courts, pickleball, squash, fitness classes, children’s camps, an indoor track, gymnastics, rock climbing, indoor golf, and much more. The Sportsplex will also include a Pro Shop, meeting rooms, a concession area, and a restaurant.
