The Co-operative Bank has appointed Fred Sharp from CYBG as head of intermediaries for its Platform brand.

Sharp held senior roles at CYBG for 10 years, most recently as head of mortgage distribution. 

He starts in the new role from April with the remit of building new relationships with brokers and other corporate partners, as well as strengthening existing partnerships.

Carolyne Gregory has been promoted to head of retail lending after holding several strategic management roles since joining Co-op Bank in 2014.

Prior to this Gregory worked at HSBC and First Direct covering products and credit risk.  

Co-op Bank chief commercial officer Darrell Evans says: “We see significant opportunities for further growth in our intermediary mortgage business and our mortgage leadership team will seek to maintain the momentum that we established through 2019 and build on our successful performance of last year.

“Our focus will be to maintain our high levels of service and continue to offer good value mortgage products, as well as improving our systems and processes to make placing business with us faster and easier for brokers.”
