Blown glass makes for unique and striking art, but do you have any idea how it is made?  The Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts, located in Lake Worth, is a private nonprofit organization located in the Historic FEC Train Depot in the heart of downtown Lake Worth. Located in the Lake Worth Arts District, the Center “brings art to life, immersing the public in arts production and its creative processes, while providing direct interaction with artists from around the world.” The Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts is presenting an “Artist Live Demo” program on March 12, 2021, 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM. The Center will be hosting premiere glass sculptor Rob Stern.  Stern has over 28 years’ experience and risen to the top of his field. He has worked extensively with the most accomplished glass artists and masters around the world. He has worked with greats like Chihuly, Lino and Pino and has traveled and studied extensively around the world.  He studied to become a master glass artist in the Czech Republic, and he has advanced degrees from San Francisco State Univers ity and the University of Miami.

Gather up a group of friends and not only watch the stuff get forged but try your hand at it yourselves at the Benzaiten Center. The converted train depot is filled with 2400-degree ovens affectionately called “glory holes,” and where skilled instructors will walk you through making a blown glass treasure of your own. Be instructed on how to roll the molten glass, force air into the tube, and go home with a piece of glass art created by you!  For more information, please contact the Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts at 561.508.7315.
