StreamBank has appointed Barry Carter as its chief executive officer, effective from 14 December.
Carter joins StreamBank from Hinckley & Rugby Building Society, where he currently serves as chief executive.
He was appointed chief executive of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society after previously serving as its chief operating officer and has since overseen the mutual’s modernisation and development.
He brings more than 25 years’ experience across banking and financial services, with senior leadership roles covering operations, business transformation and strategic growth.
At StreamBank, he will succeed Mike Kirsopp, who is retiring after leading the bank through a period of significant growth and helping establish it as a leading specialist property finance lender.
Commenting on his appointment, Carter says: “I’m thrilled to be joining StreamBank at such an exciting point in its journey. In a remarkably short period of time, the business has established itself as a major force in the bridging market, demonstrating what can be achieved with a clear vision, exceptional people and an unwavering commitment to delivering for brokers and customers.”
StreamBank chairman Nick Treble adds: “Barry’s appointment represents an important milestone for StreamBank. His experience of leading financial services businesses through periods of growth and transformation, combined with his strategic vision and customer-focused approach, make him the ideal person to lead the business into its next phase.”
“We have ambitious plans for the future, and Barry’s leadership will be instrumental in helping us realise them.”
