An American investment company focusing on fixed-income investments has become a minority shareholder in MT Finance having exercised warrants obtained in 2017.

MT Finance says the investment marks another important milestone for the company.

MT Finance director and founder Joshua Elash says: “We look forward to welcoming this outstanding institution as a shareholder.”

“The cementing of this relationship will serve MT Finance well in the coming years as we continue to achieve our objectives of being an ESG-focused, multi-solution, financial institution.”

In June, MT Finance agreed a forward flow agreement with J.P. Morgan to support the launch of its buy-to-let (BTL) mortgage offering.

The launch into BTL follows the introduction of a regulated bridging product in 2020.

Marylen Edwards was appointed as head of BTL lending in July.
