A fraudulent website has attempted to reproduce the Financial Conduct Authority register, the regulator has warned.

The regulator took to Twitter to issue a warning on the scam.

It wrote yesterday: “We are aware there’s been an attempt to reproduce our Register on a non-FCA website.”

The register’s genuine domain is register.fca.org.uk. The fraudulent domain is a very, similar register-fca.org. The latter looks similar to the actual website and remains up and running today.

The FCA wrote: “We’re working to get the page taken down. Please avoid this site.”
