Madison is once again named the top place to live in America

For the second straight year, Livability has named the city of Madison as the #1 place to live in America. If it wasn't clear before, Madison's reputation as being a great place to live, work and recreate, is spreading. Madison is clearly becoming a boomtown. Dane County, a destination.

Which lead us to 4 questions:

#1: In this age of the remote workforce and worker mobility, how many people from across the country are viewing this ranking right now and considering a move to Madison?

#2: How many retirees, who could choose to live just about anywhere in the country, are now putting Dane County at the top of their list?

#3: And then there are the investors. How many investors, who are flush with cash, are taking in this information right now and wondering how they, too, can get in on the action?

#4: And last, there is climate change. How many people from the west and southwestern parts of the country are looking for a place just like Madison that offers relief from heat, wildfires, and drought?

The upside and the downside of boomtown status

The upside is that Madison and Dane County will continue to be excellent choices for owning real estate and building wealth through real estate -- for those who have the means to buy in. The downside is that rising prices have created a barrier to homeownership for many in our community.

At Mad City Dream Homes, we are here to help as many people as we can experience the gift of homeownership. We actively contribute our time, talents, and financial resources to several homeownership advocacy programs in the Madison area. And we help dozens of first-time buyers become homeowners each year.

So, would you like to get involved with a local homeownership initiative? Or do you know someone who's still aspiring to buy their first home? We would love to be a resource for you, your friends, and your family in every aspect of homeownership. Please reach out anytime for a conversation. We would love to help.
