While home prices are still steep, interest rates have fluctuated more recently. LendingTree recently ranked the states with the highest average monthly mortgage payments by analyzing mortgages offered to users of their platform across the nation's 50 states from Jan. 1 through March 31, 2023.

The top six states in this ranking have an average monthly mortgage payment of $3,127. These states have an average of 32.73% when it comes to mortgage payment as a share of monthly household income.
