Newcastle Intermediaries is integrating its affordability criteria with Twenty7Tec’s SOURCE module, a program which displays product, criteria and lender information for advisers.

The arm of Newcastle Building Society is pursuing the integration to enhance efficiencies for its brokers.

Franco Di Pietro, head of intermediary mortgages at the building society, says the venture is part of a “significant investment” into the business’s digital capability.

He says: “Adding affordability to Twenty7Tec’s platform will help us be even more accessible and deliver significant efficiencies whilst adding speed and certainty to the early stage of the process.”

This step follows Newcastle Intermediaries’ recently announced partnership with Experian, giving more accurate data to affordability calculations early in the mortgage process.

Earlier this month, Newcastle Intermediaries launched a range of mortgage products for self-employed clients with at least one year of financial accounts.

To access the products, borrowers must have been trading for a maximum of two years and have at least one years-worth of financial records available.
