SOUTH WALES: HELP TO BUY FOR SECOND STEPPERS FROM BARRATT

Homebuyers in South Wales looking for an easy move up the property ladder are being urged to consider the government-backed Help to Buy – Wales scheme, which isn’t just for first time buyers.

Five star housebuilder Barratt Homes currently has the Help to Buy – Wales scheme available on selected homes across South Wales to ensure each buyer’s move goes as smoothly as possible.

Help to Buy – Wales was launched five years ago and allows buyers to purchase a new home with just a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage on homes up to £300,000. The remaining 20% is funded by an equity loan, interest-free for the first five years and repayable on the sale of the home.

Richard Lawson, sales director at Barratt Homes, said: “Second steppers may typically find it harder to move up or across the property ladder because of having the burden of having to sell their own home, as well as getting their finances together for the move.

“We want to remind them that they can benefit from moving schemes such as Help to Buy – Wales, which they may think is just for first time buyers.

“The scheme provides an excellent aid to people who may think they will struggle and can end up saving them thousands on a new home that may have been otherwise out of reach.

“Our developments across South Wales are all ideally placed for growing families and people looking to upsize, with a good selection of local amenities and transport links near each of our sites.”

Barratt Homes currently has properties available across South Wales including Maes Y Deri in Radyr, Morgan’s Meadow in Bridgend,Scholars Park in Dinas Powys and St Michael’s Gate in Torfaen.
