Have you ever wanted to learn to play the “sport of kings’ a/k/a polo? The International Polo School within the International Polo Club Palm Beach, 3667 120th Ave S, Wellington, Florida, is in full swing this season and entering its fourth year. The polo school is a full-service polo campaign. The school offers lessons, stabling, four, six, and 8 goal leagues, coaching leagues, and horse leasing.

The game of polo has evolved over 2,500 years into quite a display.  Polo is all about speed, finesse and great bravery of both horse and rider. Polo was at first a training game for cavalry units, usually the king’s guard or other elite troops played this training game. It is one of the world's oldest known team sports.[

What is now Wellington started out as the "world’s largest strawberry patch" in the 1950's. It has evolved into a world-famous equestrian community. Located only a few miles from West Palm Beach, Wellington equestrian homes offer the finest, luxury equine facilities money can buy. Wellington provides its equestrian population with 57 miles of trails and exceptional facilities for riding and polo events. In fact, Wellington hosts the largest horse show in the world from late January to mid-March.

The International Polo School also offers practice memberships which allow sponsors and their professionals to practice twice a week from January through April. The School now offers 150+ stalls for rent which includes turnout, access to exercise tracks, and a full-length stick and ball field. Gates Gridley and Ignacio “Nacho” Cabrera have built the program from 10 horses and 100 lessons in 2017 to 28 horses and over 600 lessons in 2020.

The International Polo School operates from Tuesday through Sunday from October through May and has a string of horses that can accommodate any level of riding, whether you are a beginner looking to try a new sport, or an experienced player looking to participate in practices, leagues, or stick and ball.
