New chat hub unveiled by United Trust Bank

A new free app from UTB allows users to speak with the lender about their case, as well as upload documents like bank statements and payslips, as well as electronically sign relevant documents. The app can also be used to scan documents for facial recognition ID verification and complete security checks.

An update will shortly follow which will allow introducers to register, refer cases and forward documentation.

The hub is UTB branded but is powered by the secure messaging platform from Nivo.

It is the latest part of the lender’s #BrokerSummerSupportPackage, a host of measures which it says will help brokers write more business. Previous elements include increasing the maximum loan-to-value for self-employed borrowers to 75% and introducing a limited edition second charge product for borrowers with historic repayment issues.

Buster Tolfree, commercial director of mortgages at UTB, said the new hub would make application processing quicker, simpler and more secure for borrowers, brokers and the bank, as well as “revolutionise” the way it communicates with its applicants.

He continued: “The system is fast, flexible and very user friendly. Our suite of innovative fintech features makes several previously onerous tasks quick and simple for customers to complete safely and securely in their own homes.

“Many brokers and lenders have had to change the way they work to overcome the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic. UTB continued to lend throughout the lockdown, sometimes using manual workarounds when digital solutions would have been better.

“Introducing the secure chat hub enables more elements of our application process and communications to become digital. Importantly, this means that we can offer a better, slicker and more efficient application process even before all of the team are working back in the office.”
