Barclays has extended its window of lower mortgage rates after a technical outage stopped brokers securing lower rates.
The lender raised prices on 85 deals by as much as 30bps on Tuesday and today hiked prices on 62 products.
But in an email to brokers yesterday, Barclays said: “Today, we experienced unexpected technical issues that affected access to our application systems. This may have prevented you from securing rates before our pricing changes come into effect.
“The issue has now been resolved and our systems are operating as normal.”
To be fair to brokers and let them and their clients secure earlier, lower, rates, Barclays has given a code that can be used until the end of today.
The code is BPER110 and it is valid until 11.59pm on 2 October.
Barclays said brokers can enter this in the lender’s ‘mortgage & product details’ section. When entering a now-withdrawn rate there will be a pop-up to enter a product sanction reference.
Barclays added: “We appreciate the frustration and disruption this may have caused, and we’d like to apologise for the inconvenience.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding whilst we worked to resolve the issue. We remain committed to supporting you and your clients.”
