As we’ve seen the popularity of all manner of decluttering tutorials and techniques increase, the trend for 2019 is that every item in the home should earn its place – forget the days of a random object just for the sake of it.

This Japanese approach to living is a really lovely marriage of a number of the above trends. Think simplicity. Think embracing natural beauty and imperfection. Wabi Sabi also looks to celebrate what you have rather than buying new. So you’re not only reducing the amount of waste that goes straight to landfill, you’re also saving money by breathing new life into the things you already own.
