The mutual has introduced some mortgages exclusively for FTBs, including a 2-year fixed rate of 2.99% for those with just a 5% deposit, which is fee-free and comes with £1,000 cashback.
A 5-year fix with the same benefits is also available at a rate of 3.09%.
Homebuyers and homeowners remortgaging with just a 5% deposit can also access a fee-free 2-year fixed rate of 2.63%, and anyone purchasing a property can access a 2.45% 2-year fix.
YBS has also re-introduced its 10-year fixed rate range for borrowers looking to fix their initial deal for longer.
These loans start from 2.09% at 75% loan-to-value (LTV), with a £995 fee and free standard valuation; a fee-free 10-year fix at the same LTV is available at 2.19%.
Homebuyers and movers with slightly larger deposits up to 25% will also benefit from the Yorkshire’s latest updates with a number of products seeing reductions of up to 0.20%.
Ben Merritt, senior mortgage manager at Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We know one of the main barriers to homeownership for many is saving a large deposit, so we’ve designed this new range to particularly help those with the smallest deposits.
“We’re also offering some real help to first-time buyers with fee-free options to help keep upfront costs down, and generous cashback on completion to help those taking a first step on the property ladder, make their house a home.”
Eleanor Williams, finance expert at Moneyfacts, said: “First-time buyers looking to secure a competitive package with a well-trusted brand may well be delighted to see the latest deals launched by Yorkshire Building Society.
“Those who have had to stretch their savings to build their deposit will find the £1,000 cashback particularly attractive in this sector of the market.”
