He takes over from Stephen O’Hara, Chairman of Elmhurst Energy, who acted as PEPA chairman for seven years.

PEPA is the trade body representing government appointed Energy Assessor Accreditation Schemes, i.e. Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and Display Energy Certificates (DECs).

Andrew Parkin said: “I am delighted and honoured to take on the role of chairman of PEPA at an exciting time for our industry, as Energy Assessors will start to provide energy efficiency advice to complement their roles as assessors.

“Current and prospective property owners, whether of residential or commercials properties, will benefit as a result from warmer buildings and lower costs.

“I would like to take the opportunity to offer a huge vote of thanks to Stephen O’Hara, who has steered PEPA through many challenges over recent years and has positioned our industry to move forward and play a full part in helping to reduce carbon emissions.”

PEPA will set out its future plans for the provision of energy advice through the assessor community at its annual conference on 26 February 2020 at the Riverside Centre in Derby.
