West One has selected Mortgage Advice Bureau’s Scottish adviser firms to exclusively launch its residential mortgages across the region.

The specialist lender, which branched out into the residential first charge market in October 2022, is extending its range to Scottish homeowners and first-time buyers for the first time.

It says: “Mortgage Advice Bureau’s Scottish adviser firms have been given exclusive access to this product range for a limited period.”

The lender’s mortgages are aimed at customers with more complex financial circumstances, such as an inconsistent credit history, county court judgments, defaults, and arrears.

Criteria features include automated affordability assessments, loan-to-values up to and over fine times income, and the latest HMRC SA302 income forms taken into account for self-employed borrowers.

West One managing director, residential mortgages and second charges, Marie Grundy says: “Mortgage Advice Bureau firms have a strong and established presence in the Scottish mortgage market, making them the perfect partner to offer our comprehensive product range to borrowers with more complex borrowing requirements.”

Mortgage Advice Bureau head of lending Danny Belton adds: “This partnership allows us to help more customers in Scotland to achieve their homeownership goals, ensuring those whose financial circumstances may not necessarily fit the high street are accommodated for.”
