Hampshire Trust Bank has hired Serena Grewal as business development manager for the City of London in its specialist mortgages division.

The lender says Grewal will work with new and existing broker networks in the capital, and reports to its sales director for specialist mortgages, Andrea Glasgow.

Grewal joins from Quantum Mortgages, where she served as the key account manager for the South.

Previously, she held mortgage-related roles at various financial institutions including Santander as a business development manager, Post Office Money, and NatWest.

The bank adds that Grewal, who has worked in the industry for over 16 years, “has a wealth of experience in handling complex buy-to-let scenarios including foreign nationals, limited company and special purpose vehicle lending, and semi-commercial properties”.

The lender offers professional investors with specialist residential loans up to £25m for limited companies, offshore entities, expats, and foreign nationals, as well as mixed-use portfolios and semi-commercial properties.

Grewal says: “Hampshire Trust Bank is a forward-thinking lender with a strong appetite to lend and has a genuine broker-led approach.

“With landlords investing in higher-yielding properties, they need a lender who can understand this model and the types of properties.”

Hampshire Trust Bank sales director for specialist mortgages Andrea Glasgow adds: “With Serena joining our already established sales team, it reaffirms our dedication to understanding and meeting market demands through high-quality specialists that can uphold the award-winning service expected from Hampshire Trust Bank.”
