Here are some hidden gem’s and must-see snorkel spots in our area.

Hidden Gem: Cato’s Bridge in Jupiter

Experience Level: Advanced

Many consider snorkeling under Cato’s Bridge to be one of the best snorkeling spots ever. Cato’s Bridge is the drawbridge that takes vehicles from Tequesta to Jupiter Island, near the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse. Many fish swim underneath and around the bridge and many local snorkelers and advanced snorkelers find snorkeling in this area around slack high tide to be the best. At low tide or the shallow area’s around the shore, is home to many crabs and tropical fish.

Must-See: Phil Foster Park located just off Singer Island

Experience Level: Intermediate

This area is highly recommended by locals as a must-see snorkel spot. The trail at Phil Foster Park is made of limestone boulders and an 800-foot-long prefabricated reef. At the center of the Blue Heron Bridge, advanced snorkelers can dive around 10 feet deep to see spotted rays, starfish, manatees, octopi and much more. Many suggest snorkeling during high-tide to see more fish and marine life but during low-tide many witness schools of rainbow parrotfish just offshore.

Must-See: Coral Cove in Tequesta

Experience Level: Beginner

The reef at the Coral Cove Park in Tequesta is perfect for beginner snorkelers and kids. The water deeps reach about 10-15 feet deeps and the 15-acre area is a lifeguard protected beach. Snorkelers often find local species like grunts and damselfish. The reef draws hundreds of snooks, and even green sea turtles have been spotted.
