The Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum is set to present its inaugural Grand Exhibition, "Endless Summer: Palm Beach Resort Wear," from November 9th, 2023, to May 25th, 2024. This exhibit delves into Palm Beach's influence on resort fashion over the past 129 years, establishing itself as a premier luxury destination where winter seamlessly transitions into summer. 

Palm Beach's impact on fashion is highlighted in the exhibition, featuring renowned brands like Gucci, Chanel, Philip Hulitar, and St. John, along with influential figures such as Jacqueline Kennedy and Lilly Pulitzer. 

To give a little background history, The Fashion Beaux Arts era (1916-1942) transformed Palm Beach into a winter fashion hub, showcasing the latest from New York and Paris. The 1920s building boom led to the birth of Worth Avenue, defining the distinct Palm Beach look. Post-World War II, the Royal Poinciana Plaza solidified Palm Beach's association with luxurious resort wear. 

Guest curator Cameron Silver, known as the King of Vintage, brings his expertise to "Endless Summer," incorporating artifacts from private collections such as, Kent State University, the Pucci Archives, and the Long Island Museum of American Art, History, and Carriages. This collaboration aims to underscore Palm Beach's role in shaping fashion history. 

"Endless Summer" is a captivating exploration of Palm Beach's influence on resort wear, weaving together clothing from the past to celebrate the enduring impact of this luxurious destination. As the exhibition unfolds, visitors are invited to step into the world of Palm Beach's fashion legacy, where summer knows no end.
