The Jupiter Lighthouse will reopen to the public on a limited basis starting Saturday, May 30, according to its website. Beginning that day, the lighthouse grounds will be open Thursday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until further notice, with the last admission taking place at 3 p.m.

The lighthouse museum, the Tindall Pioneer House and Keeper’s Workshop will all remain closed for now, however, and there will be a bevy of safety precautions.

Among them: Masks are required inside the tower and on its deck, at the museum entrance and in the gift shop. No more than 10 people can climb the tower at the same time. Social distancing markings will be flagged on the lighthouse deck.

There also will be hand sanitizer available throughout the grounds and staff members will regularly clean the site.

The grounds and tower will be open on a more limited basis May 28 and 29, only for existing members or those who sign up that day.

The lighthouse grounds have been closed to the public since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For those still staying home when possible, the Loxahatchee River Historical Society announced Monday that it’s set up a webcam atop the red tower.
