More versus better

Our industry has a tendency to obsess about more. 

As in we should always be doing more marketing. We should always be working for more leads. And of course, we should always be pushing for more sales. 

But there is another way to operate and that is to stop obsessing about more and instead focus on better. For example, we can focus on having a better purpose. We can focus on cultivating better relationships. And we can focus on offering a better experience for those we serve

The beauty of working on better is that we get to exercise our own creative freedom and pursue our own unique version of meaningful work. This freedom comes at a cost, of course. Freedom requires discipline, responsibility, and effort on our part. But it is worth it. When we have the right focus on better, "the more" has a way of taking care of itself.
