Hodge Bank appoints Saulet as chief exec

Hodge Bank has appointed Richard Saulet as chief executive, replacing David Landen who is stepping down after 24 years in the business and six as CEO.

Saulet brings with him a range of valuable experience across more than 25 years in the financial services industry having built and run successful commercial and mortgage lending businesses.

He has managed product and marketing functions and delivered transformation and technology programmes.

Most recently, Saulet served as Metro Bank’s chief commercial officer, as one of the executive committee. He was responsible for running change and product, product management and pricing, strategy, marketing and business analytics.

Prior to this he has held senior roles with Virgin Money, RBS and Barclays.

Commenting on his appointment, Saulet says: “I’m really looking forward to getting started and getting to know the Hodge team in the coming weeks. With its unique ownership structure and commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates, Hodge offers a new and exciting challenge.”
