Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, 2500 Jupiter Park Drive in Jupiter, received a $20,000 grant to fund environmental education. The grant, awarded by the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation, is intended to fund virtual fields trips for children in schools across Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.  This generous donation from the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation will impact up to 1,000 children in 40 classrooms.

The program is a STEM curriculum-based project and will enhance the children’s science courses to keep them involved with nature. Through these creative environmental programs, children and adults learn about and participate in conservation efforts to protect and preserve Florida's wildlife and natural habitats. “When Covid hit, we ramped up virtual environmental education programs to help people stay connected to the world around them when they could not visit in person.” says Assistant Director, Lisa Wynne.

The Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation was founded in 2008 due to the generosity of Mrs. Cornelia Tarrant Bailey and is dedicated to the memory of both Mr. and Mrs. Bailey. The mission is to promote the arts, education and initiatives that seek to better our world utilizing nature and the sciences. For more information, visit www.ctbfoundation.org.
