Beverley Building Society has expanded its lending criteria to accept non-UK nationals for residential home loans.
The mutual says it will consider these types of borrowers for mortgages up to 80% loan to value for residential owner-occupied properties, excluding self-build homes.
Applicants must have lived in the UK for a minimum of three years, have a UK bank account and have a minimum of one year remaining on their visa.
These include skilled worker visas and health & care worker visas.
The East Yorkshire-based society adds it will accept EU nationals with settled or pre-settled status and foreign nationals with the right to reside.
The lender says it does not rely on “computer-aided mortgage decisions” and instead uses “a team of experienced mortgage managers look at each case on merit”.
Its wider range of home loans includes those aimed at first-time buyers, landlords, remortgagers and later life lending.
