Leeds Building Society has appointed Steven Croke as its chief information officer, subject to regulatory approval.

Croke brings more than 30 years of experience delivering technology transformations in financial services.

He joins the society from Gartner, where he was most recently VP executive partner of the research board, advising CIOs across a range of industries.

Prior to that, he helped develop a global banking platform at HSBC and led the modernisation of RBS’s core banking estate.

Croke, who will join the society in December, will work closely with chief operating officer Rob Howse during a transition period, ahead of Howse’s departure from the society at the end of the year.
